Blow Molding

As part of the Spectrum Plastics Group, we are also able to offer Blow Molding to those Customers who would like to do short runs of their custom bottles.  We stock low-density poly-ethylene (LDPE),  high-density Poly-Ethylene (HDPE), and Poly-Propylene, and can provide other materials upon request on a special order basis.  Typical bottle sizes are 1 liter and smaller, and lead times are typically as short as 1-2 weeks.

Your parts are molded in a CNC machined aluminum tool, with geometry derrived directly from your CAD file.  The Magic Extrusion Blow Mold Machine is great for low-medium applications, and can provide you with real blow molded parts in at very short lead time.

For "one-off" blow molded parts, we offer rapid prototype solutions that can often meet your needs, without the tooling required for actual blow molded parts.  SLA's made from a Clear resin allows you to put your design in your hand, to test-fit caps, view liquids, and see and feel how the bottle will look once you're in production.  SLA's build with the Poly-Propylene-like 9120 resin allow you to compress the bottles, to feel how they will squeeze when molded with HDPE. 

Prototype bottles run in Laser Sintered Nylon will allow for more rigorous testing, and a longer lasting prototype, though the material is opaque white and is not completely moisture-resistant.  Still, it's often our most cost-effective solution for "one-off" parts, and can get you the design feedback you're looking for.  If you want to test your bottles run in LS, be sure to ask for "mechanical build style," which is a more dense LS build style that is less pourous, and available at no extra charge.
