Protogenic Merges with Spectrum Plastics Group
Westminster, Colorado June 16, 2008. Protogenic Inc. in Westminster, Co. has merged with Spectrum Plastics Group headquartered in Minneapolis, MN. The new company aims to become a "One Stop Supplier" to all of its Customers in the medical, defense, consumer electronics, and various other custom-manufactured plastics markets. Spectrum Plastics Group's capabilities now include the "full spectrum" of plastics fabrication needs, from rapid prototyping, laser sintering, RTV molding, rapid tooling, to injection molding, tool design and fabrication, as well as a host of other contract manufacturing, sterilization, packaging, and supply base management offerings.
The new company, Spectrum Plastics Group, consists of 4 separate facilities, which physically span the continental US. Injection molding and contract manufacturing facilities include Spectrum Plastics Group Minnesota in the Minneapolis area, and Spectrum Plastics Group Connecticut in Ansonia area... The facilities' capabilities range from low to high volume injection molding, components, sub-assemblies, and finished goods, including full scale packaging, assembly, and supply base management.
Rapid prototyping capabilities are now accomplished by two separate facilities; Dynacept in Brewster, NY and Protogenic in Westminster, CO. Both are proven leaders in the Stereolithography industry, and together have a combined 17 SLA machines. With strong Customer bases in the Eastern and Western US, respectively, Spectrum Plastics Group can now offer fast, high quality prototypes to its entire Customer base. Dynacept also offers rapid tooling, molding and CNC machining, while Protogenic specializes in RTV molding and Laser sintered nylon, again providing all Customers access to the "full spectrum" of prototyping services.
